Blended paper media have been used in industrial dust collection and fume extraction systems for decades. Made up of cellulose (80-85%) and polyester (15-20%) fibers, they collect particles in a variety of dust, fume and/or smoke generating applications, such as metalworking, welding, plasma cutting and laser cutting. With the advancement and availability of nanofiber technology, these filters are now able to collect more – and smaller – particles than ever before, while at the same time lasting longer, using less fan and compressed air energy, and requiring less maintenance than their predecessors

In 2019 Evalar was increasing its production capacity by installing new production lines of solid dosage form. Such type of production generates fine dust at different processes. Organic pharmaceutical dust is potentially explosive, therefore it is extremely important to provide safe and clean workplace both to meet GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and occupational safety and health standards.

Indeco Sales and Maco Manufacturing experienced a fire that quickly spread within its main manufacturing space and to adjacent facilities. The unfortunate timing impacted their manufacturing employees who were actively working when the fire started. In this type of scenario, properly designed and installed safety devices prevent or mitigate widespread damage due to an explosive event.
