A major challenge for the new plant, was the inefficient oil mist filtration technique at the production line of engine blocks. After the installation of Nederman Fibre Drain-based solution for the management of oil mist, the air is now clean, which has reduced maintenance and improved working environment.

MQL is a solution that reduces the consumption of oil and water in metalworking processes, leading to considerable cost savings. As the rate of production and metalworking has risen, the use of cutting agent and lubrication known as coolant has increased. Maintaining the coolant can be very costly. MQL can be used to achieve major cost savings and decrease environmental impacts by reducing the consumption of oil and water.

The inhalation of dust containing quartz particles (crystalline silica) is a recognized health hazard, which, among other things, can lead to the fatal occupational lung disease Silicosis (commonly known as “grinder’s asthma”). Examples where the silica dust occurs include quarrying, the sand-, gravel-, and mining industry, foundries, asphalt, the manufacturing of glue, paint and plastic as well as steel and metal processing. Symptoms of silicosis include cough, fever, shortness of breath and cyanosis (bluish skin).
