As part of this mission, Boxabl upgrade to selected Nederman’s LBR SmartFilter provide a dust collection solution to support their growing production demands and prioritize workplace safety.
Boxabl, based in Las Vegas, Nevada specializes in creating modular, prefabricated homes that can be mass-produced using advanced manufacturing techniques. Their flagship product, the Casita, is a 361-square-foot modular home that includes a kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom.
Boxabl homes are designed to fold flat for easy and cost-effective transport, making them accessible and affordable. This approach aims to address the housing affordability crisis by providing scalable, efficient, and high-quality housing options.
In 2021, Boxabl broke ground on their first factory, a 170,000 square foot manufacturing facility to prove the concept for an advanced assembly line and mass production of housing.
As Boxabl launched their second and third innovative factory facilities in 2023, it needed a safe and energy-efficient centralized dust collection system capable of consistent performance across multiple machines.
Nederman became a clear partner in driving further scalability with Boxabl's investment in a complete smart dust collection system that provided real-time data monitoring and capacity to support new manufacturing equipment and machinery from a single dust extraction source.
To meet growing demands while maintaining a clean, safe manufacturing environment, Boxabl selected Nederman’s LBR SmartFilter central dust collection system—an advanced industrial air filtration that aligns with the factory’s high-tech high-efficiency approach.
The installed dust collection system is a Nederman LBR-C SmartFilter that includes a 150 HP fan with silencer to reduce noise delivering 36,000 CFM of airflow, ensuring effective wood dust extraction across multiple production stations. Collected dust is transported to a dual roll-off container system enables continuous operation, while integrated safety features such as CARZ explosion isolation valves and a spark detection and extinguishing system provide critical protection in this combustible dust application.

Nederman’s Insight control panel provides real-time system monitoring both onsite and remotely. Operators can track key performance metrics including fan vibration, bearing temperature, rotary valve differential pressure, and bin level, enabling proactive maintenance and minimizing downtime.
Installed with Nordfab Quick-Fit modular ducting, the system is designed to adapt to equipment changes and future factory expansions. This scalable solution aligns perfectly with Boxabl’s mission to deliver efficient, high-tech housing at scale.
