Nederman welding fume extraction

Increased awareness of welding fume health risks calls for more efficient means of fume extraction

11/11/2019

Mild steel welding is the most common method of welding today, essential to any industry that uses welding in its production process. Recent scientific evidence has indicated that the fumes generated by this process are in fact carcinogenic. While we are yet to see the full consequences of this discovery, it is evident that there is going to be an increased focus on the health and safety of welders, and the methods by which they can be guaranteed.

Recognizing and reducing the risks of combustible dust in tobacco and food production

10/16/2019

Organic dust material – sugar, flour, grain, spices and wood, for example – are just as combustible as metal dust. Minimizing the risks of a severe, or even fatal, explosion requires awareness – from both management and operators – as well as equipment that can adequately capture the dust and remove it from the production process.

The health risks of welding fume, and how to reduce them in the workshop

9/3/2019

In 2017, the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) released new scientific evidence showing that exposure to mild steel welding fume can cause lung cancer, and possibly kidney cancer, in humans. As a result, mild steel welding fume has been reclassified as a human carcinogen in the United Kingdom, and it is likely that other countries will follow suit. Moreover, this recent discovery indicates that all welding fume should be seen as potentially carcinogenic, and that measures will need to be taken in order to reduce the health hazards caused by welding fume exposure.

The benefits of smart and communicative filter systems

8/19/2019

IoT technology and artificial intelligence are reshaping industrial processes. By gathering data, applying analytics and extracting insights, companies can understand, monitor and maintain the performance and quality of their systems like never before. This is certainly the case with industrial filters as well.

Fire and emergency vehicle exhaust system

Vehicle exhaust extraction systems provide safer workplaces for emergency personnel and mechanics

7/15/2019

In a work environment where hazardous fumes are present, having an efficient and convenient exhaust extraction system in place is essential. Some emergency vehicles, such as fire trucks, emit diesel exhaust fumes. These are dangerous particulates, which must be removed in a way that ensures both the safety of the personnel and the ability of vehicles to quickly be dispatched from the station in the event of an emergency.
