The promoters of Porsche Império Carrera Cup in Brazil uses Nederman exhaust extraction system in its workshop to capture vehicle exhaust fumes

The Porsche Empire GT3 Cup utilises Nederman extraction

Whenever there is a need to connect vehicles with a combustion engine in closed environments, there is a need for an exhaust extraction system. It's difficult to notice how quickly vehicle exhaust reach toxic levels inside a closed environment, but it is a matter of minutes for the place to become saturated with pollutants.

The famous and exciting phrase “The start was made!” can be heard by the spectators of a Porsche Império Carrera Cup race, it is of utmost importance that all cars have gone through a careful checking and maintenance process. That's where the work of the specialists in these vehicles, the Porsche Empire GT3 Cup, which promotes the race in Brazil, comes into action! They are responsible for making the cars impeccable, from the motorization to the funnel, and to do this, in their headquarters in São Paulo, they have a fully equipped workshop to meet this challenging demand.

The Porsche Empire GT3 Cup has been promoting official racing in Brazil since 2005 and one of its main challenges is always maintaining cars with maximum safety and performance on the tracks. To do this, all vehicles are repaired in its workshop after the competitions and within the meticulous care, a series of engine tests must be performed, which generates a large amount of vehicle exhaust fumes in the closed environment of the workshop.

In view of this demand, the company contacted Nederman to find a safe and efficient solution. Its main objective has always been to take care of the health and safety of its employees, eliminating air contamination and promoting a healthier and more productive work environment. The exhaust extraction system is one of the first to be placed on the podium of team care and protects employees from the risks of contamination and increases productivity in the workshop.

Whenever there is a need to connect vehicles with a combustion engine in closed environments, there is a need for an exhaust extraction system. It's difficult to notice how quickly vehicle exhaust reach toxic levels inside a closed environment, but we know that it is a matter of minutes for the place to become saturated with pollutants. The exhaust fumes released by vehicles in operation are considered harmful and carcinogenic. Repeated exposure to these fumes, even at lower levels, can cause health problems over time,” explains Claudio Visibeli, an engineer with over 12 years of experience in the industrial exhaust segment and responsible for servicing the Porsche Empire GT3 Cup.

After a technical visit and discussions with the Porsche Empire GT3 Cup team to analyze the real necessities, Nederman provided a system widely used in Europe and the United States, being the continents with the coldest climate and having closed mechanical workshops. These are self retracting reels for the capture of vehicle exhaust fumes at the source of emission, with flexible hose resistant to high temperature, customized exhaust nozzles, exhaust fans for suction and other accessories.

As we work with a premium brand, we were looking for a really efficient and differentiated solution with international references for the Brazilian market. That´s when we found and purchased Nederman equipment. We are very pleased, as the result was noticeable also by the employees, who at the end of the working hours neither anymore feel the eyes burning nor see that dark smoke from the rigorous tests that we carry out on the cars in the workshop”, explains Dener Pires, Director of the Porsche Empire GT3 Cup.

“The Porsche Empire GT3 Cup acquired Nederman's equipment and outsourced the assembly of the system with an existing supplier, which was possible as the negotiations became more flexible this way and the technical support, detailed design, specifications, supervision assembly and start up were made by Nederman, complements the engineer Claudio.

Learn how the system works step-by-step

Porche exhaust extraction

  1. The moment the vehicle is in the box and needs to test the engine, the Porsche Empire GT3 Cup specialist takes the exhaust nozzle to the exhaust of the vehicle and connects it, so that then the car is started and the accelerator driven strongly, generating the vehicle exhaust fumes
  2. These gases pass through the high temperature resistant hose and are conducted through the system's network of ducts to the exhaust fan, which has a direct discharge into the external atmosphere.
  3. The system centrifugal exhaust fan has a silencer, significantly reducing the noise level in the workshop.
  4. After use, the mechanic disconnects the exhaust nozzle from the car and by means of the exhaust reel the hoses are wound and organized in a correct way, prolonging the life of the system.
